4 Things Not to Miss In Toronto

Toronto is an extremely important part of Canada, both culturally and economically. Due to the city’s success and attractions, millions of tourists flock to the city every year to experience everything the city has to offer. Obviously, with such a big city, it’s impossible to check out every single piece of Toronto real estate, and the large crowds of residents and tourists don’t make getting around any easier. That being said, there are parts of Toronto that you absolutely have to experience your first time in the city, as any trip to the Six isn’t complete without them. So what are these great attractions that you absolutely have to experience? Here are four things not to miss in Toronto.

CN Tower

You can’t visit Toronto and miss out on the CN Tower. The CN Tower is probably one of Toronto’s biggest claims to fame, as it is one of the tallest towers in the world. Visiting Toronto without seeking out the CN Tower would be much like visiting New York City and not experiencing the Empire State Building. The CN Tower is an iconic part of the Toronto skyline, and visitors can travel to the observation areas at the top to get an amazing view of Toronto. The view of the city from so high up is absolutely breathtaking to behold and is definitely something you don’t want to miss out on.

Hockey Hall of Fame

One of the first things people think of when talking about Canada is the sport of hockey. In Canada, hockey is extremely popular, just like how American football is popular in the United States. The Hockey Hall of Fame is a museum that celebrates everything hockey-related, and it is located in Toronto. The museum is chock-full of amazing hockey artifacts such as the original Stanley Cup and dozens of pieces of memorabilia from each NHL team. Hockey is ingrained in Canadian culture, and the Hockey Hall of Fame is essentially a shrine to the sport. It’s a great attraction that sports lovers definitely shouldn’t miss.

Toronto Islands

It’s hard to get in touch with nature while in the city, and many people just simply don’t feel at home when they are underneath large buildings and among massive crowds. If you’re ever in Toronto and need to escape the bustling of the city, the Toronto Islands are the perfect place to retreat to. Even for just normal travelers, the Toronto Islands offer some amazing views that are unlike anything else you’ll find in the city. There’s plenty to do on the Toronto Islands, ranging from visiting the amusement park located there to simply relaxing with a walk or a picnic. Visiting the Toronto Islands is a great change of pace in what is an otherwise crowded city, and its uniqueness alone makes it a must-see place in Toronto.

Distillery District

When Canada was still a part of the British Empire, this district was used as a major producer of alcohol for the empire. Even though Canada is now independent, the Distillery District serves a reminder of the nation’s history. The area is filled with Victorian Era buildings, structures that look like they have been frozen in time and unchanged. The area would be worth the visit for the views and ambiance alone, but there’s also a lot of amazing shops in the Distillery District. There’s plenty of high-quality breweries, restaurants, and cafes for you to enjoy in the area, making it well worth the visit.
